Introduced for 1997, Cadillac's entry-level Catera was derived from the European Opel Omega. Equipped with a 3.0-liter V6, this rear-drive sports sedan accelerates smoothly and handles with agility. The ride is firm, yet well controlled and supple. Traction-control was standard. The roomy interior featured large, supportive front seats and a spacious rear seat that folds to expand the trunk. It was a good car, but plagued from the start with reliability problems. The CTS replaced it for 2002
