2023 Genesis Electrified GV70
Advanced 4-door SUV AWD 0.0-liter electric (429 hp) (Electric) Direct 1-speed
MSRP: $65850 ~ $65850

Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group’s upscale brand, competes with well-established luxury automakers, but its vehicles often cost less than European equivalents. The brand sells a variety of sedans and SUVs, including several EVs. In Consumer Reports’ tests, Genesis models have impressed. Their ride and handling are balanced, fit and finish is excellent, and meaningful driver assistance systems are usually standard. Unfortunately, the once easy-to-use controls in earlier models have become more complicated. Reliability varies: some models have dropped to below average reliability ratings, while others achieved average reliability, enough to earn Consumer Reports’ recommendations.
The Electrified GV70 is the third EV in the Genesis lineup. Like the Electrified G80, it's built on an existing model's platform rather than being a standalone EV model. In our testing, it achieved 220 miles of range and is equipped with a 77.4 kWh battery. The dual-motor drive system gives the SUV standard all-wheel drive. The Electrified GV70 handles similarly to the regular GV70, which proved agile in our testing -- although you do notice the extra weight on the electric model. Like the Electric G80, the charging port is in the front and concealed when not in use. The cabin looks to be just as lavishly furnished, but also includes the unintuitive and distracting controls, including the rotary gear selector. It comes with comprehensive active safety features.
