Porsche's all-electric sedan has the power, performance, and high-tech vibe to rival a Tesla. The Taycan is a low-slung four-door sedan costing six-figures. It's quick, agile, rides comfortably, and is very enjoyable to drive. The EPA-rated range is 203 miles. Charging time is long on a 240 volt connector, taking 11 hours for the larger 93 kWh battery. Public charging isn't as seamless as it is with a Tesla, however. The front seats are very comfortable, the rear is a bit tight. Visibility to the rear and sides is hindered. The car has a decent trunk and an additional small one up front. The controls are complicated and remain unintuitive even after repeated use, and the EV-related displays aren't as prominent as in a Tesla. The car is substantial but interior ambiance is less impressive than it is in other Porsche models. For 2021, a less expensive rear-wheel drive version was added. The 4S's range with performance battery increased from 203 to 227 miles. A wagon body style, named Cross Turismo, is new.Porsche refreshed the Taycan lineup for 2025 with improvements to range, power, and charging as well as minor styling updates. The Performance Battery Plus increased in capacity from 93 kWh to 105 kWh. The EPA range of the Taycan 4S with this battery pack and 20-inch wheels increased from 235 miles to to 295 miles. Porsche's Lane Change Assist is now standard which includes blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning. A heated steering wheel comes standard on all trims. Porsche also introduced a new Turbo GT trim with over 1,000 horsepower. On the handling front, adaptive air suspension is now standard for all Taycan trims.
