The Q8 is a coupelike SUV based on the Q7, an impressive three-row luxury SUV that is among the best we've tested. The Q8 is wider and lower than the Q7, and it has seating for five passengers. Some functionality is compromised for the more dynamic styling. The Q8 employs a 335-hp, 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, mated to a smooth eight-speed automatic. It is quiet, luxurious, and is among the more sporty driving SUVs. The dual touch-screen control interface is daunting at first but isn't too difficult to master. The Q8 features standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection; blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning were made standard starting in 2021. The exterior design was revised for 2024. ACC and LCA are standard as of 2024.
