2025 Ford Bronco

Among Ford’s SUVs and pickups, the smallest options usually earn our highest ratings. Consumer Reports has recommended the Mustang Mach-E EV, the thrilling Mustang coupe and convertible, and the Maverick, a small pickup truck available with a hybrid powertrain. Most other vehicles, however, score low in our road tests and have average to below average reliability. With some exceptions, used Fords can be a risk. The Ford F-150 pickup combines true truck capabilities with quiet, roomy cabins, making it one of the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. However, our tests found that recent F-150s have a stiff ride, unresponsive handling, and below average reliability. The Lightning, an EV version of the F-150, drives better and is faster than its gasoline equivalent. The Bronco SUVs has exceptional off-road ability and classic boxy styling, but suffers from issues like wind noise and long stopping distances.

The all-new Bronco squarely targets the Jeep Wrangler, revitalizing a rivalry from the 1960s. The boxy Bronco comes in two- and four-door configurations, with a soft top and available removable hardtop. There are seven trim levels, enabling the Bronco to span from a barebones base model to a well-equipped, upscale off-roader. All versions have four-wheel drive and removable doors. The Bronco will be offered with a choice of two turbocharged engines, a 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 2.7-liter V6. There are two transmissions offered: a 7-speed manual and a 10-speed automatic. The clean, car-like interior design offers a variety of features to aid off roaders, such as floor drains, water-resistant controls, 360-degree camera, and navigation with trail maps powered by Ford's new Sync 4 infotainment system. Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of advanced safety and driver assist features that includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, will be standard. For 2025, all models receive a standard, 12-inch digital gauge cluster.
