This big, electric pickup from Volkswagen's new Scout brand shares design heritage with the 1970s International Scout 80 pickup truck. Rugged and retro with off-road chops, it has easy-to-use buttons and knobs for audio and climate control and an optional front bench seat. There's a 5.5-foot bed with power outlets as well as a front trunk for enclosed storage. Towing capacity is 10,000 pounds. Scout says the EV can do 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a driving range of 350 miles; an optional 'Harvester' version gets a gas-powered range extender for up to 500 miles of range. The automaker says that production will start in 2027 at Scout's new factory in South Carolina.
