The second-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe offers more standard equipment and options. Revised powertrains include a 241-hp, 228 xDrive and the high-performance, 312-hp, M235 xDrive. A seven-speed dual clutch replaced the previous eight-speed automatic as the standard transmission. The 228 xDrive and M235 xDrive launched first, with the front-wheel drive 228 sDrive Gran Coupe arriving mid-year. The 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe has increased in length by about 1 inch, while the wheelbase remains unchanged. A new controls system is based on the updated iDrive 9 infotainment system. The ride is quite firm. The front seats are very supportive and comfortable, but the rear seat is cramped.
