2006 Chrysler Crossfire

Debuting for 2004, this German-built, two-seat, rear-drive coupe was based on the first-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK. It competed with the Nissan 350Z and Audi TT of the period. The Crossfire is powered by a punchy 3.2-liter V6 from Mercedes with either a five-speed automatic or a clunky six-speed manual transmission. A supercharged version was added in 2005. With its outdated steering system handling feels neither precise nor sporty. Tenacious tire grip adds security, though. The ride is stiff, and there's too much wind noise. Besides that, the interior is cramped, and visibility is poor. Chrysler dropped the Crossfire after the 2008 model year.
