The Mercedes-Benz EQB, an EV version of its gasoline-powered GLB compact SUV, is part of Mercedes push to build a parallel line of pure battery-electric vehicles for its entire model lineup. The EQB looks a lot like its popular gasoline-powered fraternal twin, but features a two-motor electric all-wheel-drive powertrain that offers 225 hp in the EQB 300 4MATIC, and 288 hp in the more expensive EQB 350 4MATIC with driving range of up to 207 miles. Both trims come standard with a suite of active safety features, including AEB, BSW, and LKA, as well as a voice-activated infotainment system and an augmented reality navigation system that superimposes navigational directions upon images of the streets outside the vehicle. New for 2023 is a front-wheel drive model that puts out 188 hp and an estimated 250-mile driving range.
