2026 Volvo EX30

The all-electric EX30 is a small SUV that's available as a 268-hp, single-motor front-wheel-drive version or a 422-hp, dual-motor with all-wheel drive. The AWD model we tested managed 245 miles in our highway-range test. Its 11-kW onboard charger makes home charging quick, but its 150-kW DC fast-charging acceptance rate is on the low side. The dual-motor model can zip from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. The ride is comfortable, but the steering is overly light. The cabin is super minimalist, with a single center-mounted touchscreen housing the speedometer, climate control interface, and infotainment. Even adjusting the mirrors is done via the screen, Tesla-style. The front seats provide reasonable comfort, but the rear seat is very tight. Safety features include a warning if occupants are about to open a door into the path of an oncoming cyclist. The top Ultra version comes with Volvo’s Pilot Assist active driving assistance system and a surround view camera. New for 2026 is a more rugged Cross Country AWD version.
