2024 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid

Lincoln is Ford’s luxury brand, and most Lincoln models are fancier, quieter versions of existing Ford SUVs. The Lincoln Navigator, for example, is based on the Ford Expedition, and the Lincoln Corsair is based on the Ford Escape. Some models are available as hybrids. Lincoln SUVs tend to come with standard leather seating surfaces, large screens, and sound deadening. That interior quality paired with lively powertrains have earned some models Consumer Reports’ recommendation. Lincoln stopped building sedans when it discontinued the Continental and MKZ in 2020. As a brand, for new and used car reliability, road-test scores, and owner satisfaction ratings, Lincoln tends to be average.

The Nautilus is redesigned for 2024. This two-row midsized luxury SUV now boasts an optional hybrid powertrain and a wide display screen that wraps around the front of the cabin. The base engine is a 250-hp, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The optional hybrid powertrain adds another 60 hp and delivered an impressive 30 mpg overall in our testing. The cabin is quiet and the ride seems comfortable at first, but it gets unsettled easily and feels unrefined on rough roads. Handling is short on agility but secure. The cabin looks swanky and is well-put together. But the oblong steering wheel feels strange in your hands and the center infotainment touchscreen is too low. Plus, it's annoying that you have to go through the screen to adjust the dash vents. The ultra-wide driver's screen looks impressive but is daunting to use. Rear-seat room is generous. Ford's excellent BlueCruise active driving assistance system is available as a subscription.
