2010 Cadillac DTS

Cadillac is primarily a luxury brand, selling quieter and higher-tech variants of Chevrolet vehicles. Its SUV line spans from compact options up to the enormous Escalade. Several boldly designed EV models have excellent range, quick acceleration, and fast charging speeds. There’s also the V-Series, a line of performance versions available for several vehicles, which can compete with the best sports sedans from Europe. Most models are available with excellent driver assistance tech, including GM’s Super Cruise. New car reliability across the brand is average. Several new models are Consumer Reports recommended for their interior quality, comfort, and fit and finish. We also recommend some of the brand’s used models.

The DTS is a large, front-wheel-drive luxury sedan. Its 275-hp, 4.6-liter V8 is smooth and powerful, and works well with the four-speed automatic. Interior space is generous, with a roomy back seat and an enormous trunk. A six-passenger version, featuring a front bench seat, is available. However handling is not agile, and braking is unimpressive. The ride is comfortable, but can become buoyant at speed. The interior is quiet. Fit and finish were improved over the DeVille sedan it replaced, but some flaws seem out of place for this class. The 2011 model year was its last.
