The overview

The 2027 Tucson is slightly longer, wider, and taller than the version it replaces, promising more passenger and cargo room. There are two powertrains, each built around a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The gas-only engine produces 184 hp, while the hybrid powertrain puts out a combined 233 hp. Hybrid fuel economy is expected to range from 38 to 42 mpg, depending on the configuration. Hybrid tow capacity has increased from 1,000 pounds to 3,000 pounds maximum, and there is a trailer mode to assist with backing up. The model lineup gains an XRT Pro trim with more off-road features, and there will be a sporty trim, as well. The sparse cabin features a slender, horizontal instrument panel display and a large central infotainment screen (13 or 17 inches).

Behind the data

Latest source update: October 7, 2026

Vehicle summaries, specifications, pricing and ratings come from Consumer Reports vehicle records. Auto Guide groups these records by model and reported generation start year.

Available years are listed explicitly. Gaps do not imply that a model was discontinued. Prices are source estimates, not live offers. No first-hand road test by Auto Guide is claimed.
