The overview
The second-generation Telluride isn't as well-rounded as the original, with some awkwardly placed controls, driving-position issues, and a noisy engine that mar the otherwise well-equipped, comfortable SUV. The Telluride grew slightly in size, giving it a more spacious interior. But it also gained weight, and its 274-hp, 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (replacing the previous V6) sounds grumbly and unpleasant at low revs. Its engine note feels like a mismatch for an otherwise quiet, classy SUV. The Telluride's suspension absorbs bumps well, but the steering is dull, and there is a fair amount of body roll through turns. The firm front seats provide moderate comfort, while the second row is spacious. The third row delivers good room among midsized SUVs, but is still best for kids. Too many common interior functions are hidden from the driver's view. For example, the primary climate touchscreen is largely blocked by the steering wheel. At least the infotainment screen is straightforward.

Behind the data
Latest source update: September 11, 2026
Vehicle summaries, specifications, pricing and ratings come from Consumer Reports vehicle records. Auto Guide groups these records by model and reported generation start year.
Available years are listed explicitly. Gaps do not imply that a model was discontinued. Prices are source estimates, not live offers. No first-hand road test by Auto Guide is claimed.
