The overview

For 2027, the updated Lexus NX is only available as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, setting it apart from a sea of gas-only compact luxury SUVs. The PHEV gets a new battery that promises more than 40 miles on a charge before the gas engine kicks in, and an upgraded all-wheel-drive system that engages in more situations than the prior setup. A new interior, which is almost identical to the Lexus ES, includes an easier-to-use touchscreen and widely spaced climate buttons. Buyers can opt for extras such as scent diffusers and unique hidden lighting accents. In addition to the powertrain changes and new interior, the Lexus NX gets a bunch of minor upgrades across the board that promise better handling and smoother acceleration. Lexus' newest suite of active safety and adaptive driving assistance systems, called Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, now comes standard.

Behind the data

Latest source update: September 11, 2026

Vehicle summaries, specifications, pricing and ratings come from Consumer Reports vehicle records. Auto Guide groups these records by model and reported generation start year.

Available years are listed explicitly. Gaps do not imply that a model was discontinued. Prices are source estimates, not live offers. No first-hand road test by Auto Guide is claimed.
