The overview
Mercedes-Benz redesigned its GLA small SUV for 2028, incrementally increasing its size to provide more passenger and cargo room. It will be available in two electric and two hybrid configurations. Each powertrain type is available with all-wheel drive. The hybrid employs a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The electric versions use an 85-kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture that allows DC fast charging. An interior makeover moves the GLA closer to higher-end models from the German automaker, with available screens galore, audiophile-grade stereo, AI-enabled virtual assistant, a panoramic roof with electrically controlled opacity, and abundant ambient lighting.
