2026 Polestar 3

The midsized Polestar 3 SUV will expand the electric-only brand's portfolio in 2025, packed with luxury features and safety equipment. Two dual-motor configurations with all-wheel drive are offered, as is one single-motor rear-wheel drive version. The standard dual-motor model has 489 horsepower, with an estimated 315-mile range. The step up is a long range model with a Performance Pack. It has 517 hp and an estimated 279-mile range. Both have a 400-volt lithium battery, with 111-kW capacity, and a maximum tow capacity of 3,500 lbs. The single-motor version has an estimated range of 350 miles and a towing capacity of 2,000 lbs. First-year models are well equipped, from HUD and 25-speaker stereo, to a generous roster of active safety systems that includes AEB with cyclist and pedestrian detection, AEB highway, BSW, and RCTW, supported by five radars and five external cameras. There is an upgrade that adds LIDAR and more external sensors.

About Polestar

Polestar is an all-electric brand that offers the Polestar 2 sedan, Polestar 3 SUV, and Polestar 4 coupe SUV EVs. Its vehicles have a lot in common with Volvos, both of which are owned by the Geely conglomerate. Polestar started out as a company that tuned Volvos to be sportier and was eventually acquired by Volvo itself—kind of like BMW M and Mercedes-Benz AMG. In 2017, Polestar became an independent company and started producing its own vehicles. The Polestar 2’s choppy ride and cramped interior did not impress us when we tested it, but newer models seem to be aimed at a broader audience. Originally, Polestar vehicles were sold online and through showrooms, but the automaker is now opening traditional dealerships.
