The overview
Porsche's compact luxury SUV combines much of the performance and feel of its sports cars with the functional package of a small SUV. Two engines are offered; a 3.0-liter V6 turbo in the S and a 3.6-liter V6 turbo in the uplevel Turbo. Though based on the Audi Q5, the power and handling are true Porsche, as are the seats, controls, fit and finish, and attention to detail. The firm ride is steady and controlled. The cabin is quite snug, and the center dashboard is a dizzying array of buttons. Porsche's latest addition combines much of the performance and feel of its sports cars with the functional package of a small SUV. Updates for 2019 included standard LED headlights, a new 10.9-inch touch screen for the infotainment system, reworked suspension, and standard voice controls and navigation. Both the 2.0-liter and V6 turbo engines received horsepower increases. A 2022 freshening brought a cleaner cockpit with haptic switchgear as well as a stubbier electronic gear selector. LDW is now standard. A Macan EV is also available.

Behind the data
Latest source update: September 11, 2026
Vehicle summaries, specifications, pricing and ratings come from Consumer Reports vehicle records. Auto Guide groups these records by model and reported generation start year.
Available years are listed explicitly. Gaps do not imply that a model was discontinued. Prices are source estimates, not live offers. No first-hand road test by Auto Guide is claimed.
