The overview

The R1T is a five-passenger crew-cab pickup truck about the size of a Honda Ridgeline. It is very quick and quiet, rides comfortably, and handles with agility. With the largest, 140-kilowatt-hour battery, expect about 358 miles of range at a steady 70 mph. The R1T is impressively capable off-road, thanks to an excellent traction control system and high ground clearance. However, the regenerative braking system can be too abrupt at low speeds, making it difficult to drive smoothly. The swanky interior has an uncluttered, high-tech vibe, but several common tasks entail multiple steps through the touchscreen, which is distracting. The R1T has a large front trunk and an innovative transverse tunnel between the cab and bed for storage. 2026 models and newer come standard with a Tesla-style NACS charging port, and Universal Hands-Free active driving assistance is available for Gen 2 models.

Behind the data

Latest source update: September 11, 2026

Vehicle summaries, specifications, pricing and ratings come from Consumer Reports vehicle records. Auto Guide groups these records by model and reported generation start year.

Available years are listed explicitly. Gaps do not imply that a model was discontinued. Prices are source estimates, not live offers. No first-hand road test by Auto Guide is claimed.
